Brian Nunn CEO

Brian Nunn

Chief Executive Officer

Brian has more than 20 years of experience in leading hospital operations throughout the Carolinas.  Most of his experience has been serving at the executive leadership level in acute care for both for-profit and not for profit organizations.  Brian received his initial leadership training as an officer in the United States Navy. Prior to HealthSouth, he was employed by Novant Health and Community Health Systems as chief operating officer and chief nursing officer.  He has extensive experience at developing and enhancing clinical programs, quality improvement programs and care management programs. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and master’s degrees in business administration and health care administration from Pfeiffer University.

Dr Dean Larenz

Dean Lorenz

Medical Director

Dr. Lorenz comes to HealthSouth Florence with more than 15 years of experience as a medical director of an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation specializing in spasticity management and electromyography (EMG).

Dean Lorenz is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.

Dana Browder

Dana Browder

Director of Quality

As the director of quality, Dana is responsible for maintaining the hospital's compliance with state and federal standards, quality of patient care and patient safety. With expertise in nursing management and quality improvement, she brings almost 15 years of nursing experience to HealthSouth Florence. Dana received an associate's degree in nursing from Central Carolina Technical College.

Alisa Jett

Alisa Jett, RN, BSN, CNA-BC

Chief Nursing Officer

Alisa has more than 20 years of healthcare experience including 14 years in clinical and operations leadership. Her past roles include administrative director of nursing services, cardiac research coordinator, regional director of clinical operations, chief executive officer and staff nurse. She also brings knowledge and experience in the specialty area of dialysis.

Ann Spearman

Ann Spearman

Director of Case Management

Ann has worked in the healthcare field for 22 years. She has worked in many departments of HealthSouth, including four years as a marketing representative and two years in admissions. Ann joined the case management department in August 2009 and now oversees the daily operations of case management; ensuring services are delivered to meet the needs of patients and families. Ann received her bachelor's degree from Francis Marion College.

Susan Trantham

Human Resources Director

Susan has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare human resources management at HealthSouth Florence. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Susan is also involved with missions through her church. 

Eddie Vergara

Eddie Vergara

Director of Therapy Operations

Eddie comes to HealthSouth with over 15 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy. He served 8 years as a manager for an 800 bed acute care hospital in Florida. Eddie has clinical experience in the areas of acute care hospital rehabilitation, inpatient acute care rehabilitation, outpatient hand therapy, assisted living  and skilled nursing facilities. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling and a master's degree in health science in occupational therapy. Eddie enjoys all forms of fitness related activities along with spending time with his wife and two sons.

Jackie Young

Controller

Jackie has been the controller for HealthSouth Florence since March 2015. In her role, she oversees the following departments, HIMS, purchasing, accounts payable and Payroll. Jackie has been in the healthcare environment within a hospital for more than 20 years holding various financial management positions. She is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with emphasis in management. She was a member and actively involved with South Carolina HFMA for more than eight years and served on the board. Jackie has two daughters and resides in Lake City with her husband, Todd.
